Lighthouse Warnemünde

The lighthouse Warnemünde is located in the Baltic seaside resort Warnemünde, a district of the Hanseatic city Rostock. The well-known landmark of the seaside resort was opened in 1898. The height is 36.90 m. In 1949, cracks in the walls were detected, presumably due to temperature effects, which led to a partial renovation in 1969, followed in the 1980s by further extensive renovation measures, which were only completed in 1993. Between 1979 and 1993 the tower was therefore closed to tourists for climbing.
