Old Courtyard
In the middle of the Old Town, between Hofbräuhaus and opera, is the old courtyard. Ludwig der Bayer resided here in the 14th century- today you can see there a multimedia presentation on the history of Munich .
The old courtyard is located in Munich's Old Town. Under the Wittelsbach emperor Ludwig "Bayer" (Louis IV), it became the first permanent imperial rule place based in Germany. From the 13th to the 15th century, the Alte Hof was the residence of the Wittelsbach. The multi-part construction changed with the development of the city of Munich and was rebuilt after its destruction during World War II in 1950.
