Lorch Monastery

History Middle Ages.
The Benedictine monastery of Lorch was founded around 1102 by the Staufer Duke Friedrich I and his family. The so-called foundation charter has meanwhile turned out to be a forgery from the second half of the 12th century, but it should, however, essentially correctly reflect the facts of the case.
