Climate-neutral company

The consequences of global warming can no longer be denied and the pressure on politicians and companies is increasing. As a company, we are also aware of our responsibility towards nature and future generations and want to set a sustainable example.

For example, by switching to electricity from regional hydropower in 2017, we were able to save around 102 tons of CO2 in 2022 - that's equivalent to the amount that a forest the size of around 11 soccer pitches can store per year! And we will continue to produce 100% of our electricity from hydropower, making it CO2 neutral.

So we at SCHÜLE'S Gesundheitsresort & SPA are ready to continue to take responsibility for the world that we leave to our children and grandchildren. That's why we are delighted to have been certified as a climate-neutral company since 2020. But what does that actually mean?

We have decided to neutralize our CO2 emissions and make a contribution to a better future. According to the principle of CO2 compensation described in the Kyoto Protocol, greenhouse gases that are produced in one place on earth and cannot be avoided are to be saved by climate protection projects in another place. As climate change is global, it does not matter where CO2 emissions are saved, in the end it is the sum of the greenhouse gases that is decisive. To finance this, companies buy certificates for corresponding climate protection projects.
