Esterhazy Palace - Fertöd
The castle is located in the center of Fertőd on the bicycle path around Lake Neusiedl. The baroque Esterházy Castle in Fertőd is the third most important building complex in Hungary and part of the World Heritage.
Joseph Haydn spent two decades here and lived in the music house. A memorial room preserves his memory.
There is much beauty to be seen in the renovated building and in the beautifully renewed palace park. Among the sights of the residence are the wrought-iron gate, the parade ground with the fountain, the living quarters shining in their original beauty, the chapel, the puppet theater and Haydn's former home, the Music House.
