Winneburg castle ruins

Today, the appearance of the castle ruins is dominated by the round keep, a good 22 meters high and 8.5 meters in diameter. It is clearly visible from the Moselle valley and stands steeply on a mountain ledge above the valley of the Endertbach. The castle is entered from the north over a bridge, which leads over a ditch that has partly been buried again. In the extensive castle complex, which has been restored in recent years and thus saved from further decay, there are still numerous clearly towering remains of the palace, other residential and farm buildings, the outer castle and the curtain wall.
