Württemberg State Museum

The Württemberg State Museum was founded in 1862 by Wilhelm I, King of Württemberg, and is one of the largest cultural history museums in Germany. It presents the history of the state from the Stone Age to the Celtic period, the Romans, the Alamanni, the Middle Ages, the Renaissance, the Baroque and the present.

In addition to the Old Palace, numerous other museums and institutions belong to the Württemberg State Museum. Since October 2010, the Württemberg State Museum has offered additional exhibition and activity areas for children aged four to ten with its "Children's Museum Young Castle".
