Devil's wall Blankenburg and Thale

The Devil's Wall (Teufelsmauer) is an imposing rock formation that extends over a length of 20 km.
Many legends and myths have been formed to make the particularity of the place explained.
The Devil's Wall at Weddersleben is recognized since 1935 as a nature reserve Teufelsmauer and Bode northeast of Thale making it to one of the oldest nature reserves in Germany.
About halfway the Teufelsmauer is cut by a passport, called Sautrog. Here lead old paths along which have been secured in the Middle Ages by a rocky vantage point.
Nearby are the "thunder cave" and the "foxhole", an artificial walkable rock cellar. The eastern end of Blankenburger Teufelsmauer is dominated by a small medieval weir system, the "Kucksburg".
