Harbour museum Sassnitz

In March 1993, citizens took the initiative to found a non-profit organization, the Sassnitz Fishery and Harbor Museum. The aim was to present the history of Sassnitz as a city of fishing and fish processing, ferry and bathing and marine tourism.
The museum opened its exhibition in May 1996 and has since then been constantly expanded and developed. The most important exhibit of the museum is the museum ship "HAVEL", which has its mooring opposite the museum. The ship is the last 26m - cutter,
The original faithfully restored. It belonged to a series of 50 kuttern, which until 1990 used in the former VEB fishcombine Sassnitz. Here, the visitors are familiarized with the working and living conditions of the fishermen on board and guided over the bridge, into the chambers, cabins and engine room.
