Museum of Archeology & Geology

The Museum of Archaeology & Geology is located at Michelsenstraße 1 in Bad Fallingbostel, A museum with prehistoric, historical and geological departments. In the former forester's house from the 17th century, the Archaeological Working Group maintains a museum with archaeological finds from the region. In addition to a presentation of the geology and paleontology of the region, insights into the Old, Middle and New Stone Ages, the Bronze Age and the Iron Age up to the pre-industrial modern era are shown. Special highlight: garments and jewelry of the "Fallingbostel Bride from Hungary" and the "Man from Bokel". The latter was found in Bad Fallingbostel in 1904 and is considered a special feature of the early Bronze Age in the Lüneburg Heath region. Objects from the Middle Ages and modern times as well as an original dugout canoe are also presented. Special exhibitions regularly show the current excavation activities and research results from the Heidekreis.
