The Duisburg Zoo

The Duisburg Zoo was founded on 12 May 1934 by Duisburg citizens. The zoo is known for its dolphinarium and the first permanent and for a long time the only breeding of koalas in Germany. Besides, numerous zoological rarities are held, as for example giant otters or in Amazonasdelfin from South America, bear stump-monkeys and brush ear-pigs from Africa, Fossas from Madagascar, Nebelparder from Asia or Wombats from Australia.
