Museum of Glass Art Lauscha

Lauscha can rightly call itself the “birthplace of glass Christmas tree decorations” in a figurative sense. The newly designed Museum of Glass Art honors this “title”.
The contemporary presentation of excellent products from the areas of furnace glass, lamp glass, studio glass, Christmas tree decorations, eye prosthetics, etc. is complemented by the enormous variety of the display depot. The connection between pearl production and Christmas tree decoration production, which is typical for Lauscha, is shown for the first time.
The history of this oldest German special museum for glass, which goes back more than a hundred years, is combined with authentic glass production at the site of the traditional colored glassworks.
